SEO Keywords. The most important part of SEO

PAGE 1 SEARCH ENGINE RANKING
= MORE TRAFFIC
= MORE SALES

Every man and his dog wants a No. 1 listing on Google, Yahoo and Bing. But it IS ALL POINTLESS if it is for the WRONG KEYWORDS !

The keywords you choose to market your website on are the most important starting place for your own search engine optimisation program (SEO).

Pick the wrong ones and either too few people will find you or conversely too many of the wrong people will hit your site…  and you’ll be wasting a lot of your time, energy and money.  Either way visitors will NOT BUY if the keyword match is wrong SIMPLE !!

SO CHOOSING THE RIGHT KEYWORDS
FROM THE OFF INCREASES  YOUR
CHANCE of RANKING HIGHLY
in the SEARCH ENGINES.

Many site owners think that they already know the best keyword for their product or service . BUT… without keyword analysis they are more than likely wrong or the obvious keywords are so competitive already that their SEO journey is a steep and rocky climb!  There are several reasons why:

  1. Because you know the special terminology used in your business category or geek speak it doesn’t mean your prospects do!
  2. Customers in different areas / regions / countries use different terms.
For example:  If your site is optimised for “automotive parts” but more of your searchers use the phrase “car spares” then it’s likely they will miss your site completely.
  3. You’re not in the prospect’s mind-set. So you will not know in what context they are searching or if it’s related to some other problem / issues or purchase decision they have in mind. So they may not want to buy, just find information when you want buyers or leads.

So it’s critical to your on-line success that you spend time to find the best keywords for your website and ‘topic’ if you want a easier payback (and we surely do).

Google Top 10 for Pearl Jewellery Designer

Congratulations to BYELISE.COM for getting high rankings in many search engines as part of an on-going SEO programme.

Digital Idiom have been web design partners with By Elise Pearl Jewellery for many years. Recently they have moved into e-commerce selling their products online. They are now also keenly working on on-line marketing, recognising the importance of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)  in boosting page rank and getting targetted traffic to their online store…

So in less than just 3 months of SEO the Pearl Jewellery Designer Elise Compson’s web site www.byelise.com has made GOOGLE UK TOP 10 (July 2009) for many of her chosen and very competitive keywords.  They were particularly keen to get page 1 Google UK for ‘Pearl Necklaces‘… and last week we made it !

We used various professional SEO tools , link-building and years of experience to creat a more search engine friendly web site, thus gaining more traffic to the site. By Elsie report an increase in traffic, sales leads and purchases as more people find their web site through Search Engines.

Get Real! SEO is a Process of Constant Discovery

After years of designing and developing web sites for a myriad of small to medium businesses we often encounter the need to do SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) . Increasingly customers ask us to get their sites a TOP 10 in Google et al. This of course is not always easy !

As most clients don’t understand the technical side of building web sites they equally have little clue as to how even basic SEO works. So often their EXPECTATIONS of SEO / page ranking or search positioning are FAR TOO HIGH… certainly in the post web site launch stage.

A customer recently contacted me ONLY one day after we released his site complaining he couldn’t find the site listed in Google !!! Despite telling him it takes time and writing extensive release notes with hints and tips for better SEO.
